Sometimes, come Friday, I am a little wearing of generating, holding and issuing opinions, both in my personal and professional life. The trouble is, I don’t really believe all that much in most of my opinions, I just feel that they are a necessary accessory to life, like computers, or underpants. After all, whaddya gonna do without opinions? Just sit there when all your friends are throwing about like confetti? And as a journalist, not having opinions simply doesn’t pay anything. It’s not clickbait to say ‘ Um I’m not sure what I think about Israeli /Palestinian conflict’ for instance.
So this week I’ve decided hand my opinions over to AI. I asked Chat GPT what Tim Lott would say about the Middle East crisis instead of having to work it out myself. This is what it came up with:
